Just some random links to keep us all going as we near the end of summer. Obsessives will probably have already seen many of these. Got some new stuff just last night, though, so read on! (Saved the best for last!!!)
A new nonfiction book related to the show came out this week, "The Mythology of Supernatural." The link goes to a review of the book.
Set images featuring Castiel/Misha.

Supernatural @ Comic-Con

Comic Con starts today and HOW I wish I was there. One day, I hope. I really, really hope. Although I must confess I don't want to go by myself because it seems somewhat terrifying. LOL.
Meanwhile, Supernatural has a panel this Sunday with Sera Gamble, Ben Edlund, Jared, Jensen, Jim, Misha and Mark Sheppard. The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke with Jared who, God bless him, spoke about his geekiness. He confesses to an irrational love for Star Wars Boba Fett as a child. He really wanted to grow up to be a bounty hunter. I think he actually did as Sam, sans the rocket he seems to adore.
Fans have high hopes they’ll see the gag reel from season 6 at the session as well as a sneak peek of season 7, perhaps the episode Jensen directed since it was the first to be filmed. The panel will be moderated by Eric Goldman, the Executive Editor for the TV channel at IGN.com. You can

But the most interesting thing I got from the THR article was Jared’s hint that there’s going to be a major big baddie in the new season. “We have to go big or go home and Supernatural has a tendency to go big and badder and this season the foe will be bigger than Armageddon, bigger than the apocalypse, bigger than Lucifer and bigger than God. “ I’m thinking holy crap, just what could that be?

SPN News as Shooting for Season 7 Begins
Slow trickle of news at this time of year. It should pick up now that they're filming again, though! :)
Are you one of the fans upset or cautiously optimistic about Misha Collins' role as Castiel in season 7? Laura Prudom of AOL TV went to Haiti with Misha and Random Acts, and took the opportunity to ask him about it. Mild spoilers.
Alona Tal tweeted (in a vague kind of way) that she'll be back on the show in some capacity in season 7. You can read an analysis here.
In other casting news, Kim Rhodes (Bobby's Sheriff Millsannounced at the NJ Salute to Supernatural that she'll be back this season, too—filming right after Comic-Con.
My two favorite shows collide yet again! Yesterday my Google alert included links to an article confirming that Jewel Staite will be guest-starring in the episode Jensen is directing! Set photos can be found here, taken by a fan. You can't see Jewel's face in either shot, but die-hard fans may recognize body language and head shape. LOL
At Comic-Con's preview night on July 20th, Warner Bros. will be sneak-peaking the anime series. (Details here.
Speaking of Comic-Con... If you're going, you're in for a treat. Warner Bros. is putting Supernatural in Hall H! The panel will be Sunday from 11:15 to 12:15. Be warned: It's followed by the Doctor Who panel. There's a lot of overlap in fandoms, so that might work out nicely, but still take the huge Doctor Who following into account in your planning. (Remember when the Twihards filled the hall early so the Avatar people couldn't get in?)
Anyone hear any other news?

This Just In...From Comic-Con
Sorry this post is late! I kind of forgot this was my day. Actually, last week, I asked a friend about guest blogging. She said yes, then forgot about sending me the post, and I forgot to remind her, and I've been working a new job (always stressful), and I let this fall by the wayside. So sorry!
But it works out! I have 19 Google Alerts that have links to Comic-Con reports. I've been letting them sit because I had so much important stuff to do! But now I'm "forced" to read through and find the best links to post here. So here they are!
First check out The WB's Supernatural at Comic-Con video—high-quality vid with interviews with the boys, shots of them doing autographs, bits of the panel, and an interview with the show's music supervisor.
Some caveats: "Best" really means "best first," because if I see a decent article and then I come across another decent article but it says the exact same stuff, I won't link to it. Doesn't mean the first one is really better than the second. Also...BEWARE OF SPOILERS. I won't post spoilers here, but once you click through, you're on your own! :)
Okay, first up, Digital Spy live blogs the Supernatural panel. This hits all the big stuff: Kripke's take on the finale and the upcoming season, how long after the finale the premiere starts, what Castiel's up to, Jensen's directing, and a couple of jokes by Jim and Misha. :)
Zap2it interviews Sera Gamble, who elaborates on where the season starts, and tells us a whole lot about how they're taking on vampires this season. There's a report, but the actual video is at the bottom.
Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune posts tweets, interviews, photos, and panel report, and an audio file of the panel.
TV Squad/AOL TV has interviews from the round table discussions that were held before the panel.
Here is a Livejournal community post with a compilation of tweets, photos, videos, and another audio file of the whole panel.
buzzfocus interviews Misha outside of Comic-Con. Three minutes of Misha being Misha. :)
I also came across this funny Misha's Minions recruitment video.
Want spoilers? This report from TV Squad gets heavy with the details. Proceed with caution!
Zap2it interview with Jared and Jensen.
Want more? Man, you're insatiable. Okay, go here. SuperWiki compiled links to everything! :)
We're a week past halfway to the season premiere...

SPN News: 8 weeks down, 11 to go
The end is near!
Well, of course not really. On the show, the end was averted. And IRL, we still have months and months to go before the season premiere. Until September 24th to be exact! The CW was the first network to announce premiere dates, and unfortunately, our beloved show is the last one on the schedule.
But up in Vancouver, they're already shooting. Jim Beaver tweeted that they were beginning filming of Jensen Ackles' directorial debut on June 30. Whether that's episode 3 or episode 4 seems open to debate. Ausiello and Jim Beaver say it's ep 4, but other sources (including Jensen Ackles) said it's ep 3.
Does it really matter? :)
They're filming this episode first so Jensen can have his prep time without interference from or in the episodes that come before his. You can find details of the episode, titled "Weekend at Bobby's," here.
Is it September yet?
In other news...
Mark Pellegrino tells Fearnet (article via Digital Spy) that he would love to return to the show.
The Complete First Season of Supernatural was released on Blu-Ray (finally!) last month, so if you're a Blu-Ray user looking to complete your collection, now you can!
Spoiler TV has amalgamated some casting and behind-the-scenes spoilers about potential guest stars and the episode Jensen is directing at the beginning of the season.
Sun Valley Magazine has a article about "The Perfect Winter Wedding." The focus is on Genevieve, a Sun Valley native, but it has some beautiful photos of the wedding.
Ausiello announces the official word on Mitch Pileggi's return, with other casting news. Minor spoilery.
Going to Comic-Con? Warner Bros. announced their lineup, and the Supernatural screening and Q&A will be on Sunday, July 25, from 11:15 to 12:15. Eric, Ben, and Sera will join unnamed actors to present a sneak peak of season 5 DVD extras as well as season 6.
The CW Sourcies (fan awards) are currently being conducted. Keep track of them here and vote on Most Heartbreaking Moment, Best Villian, etc. Voting time frame for each category is short-lived, so check back often!

Supernatural News
We're going to be starting a new regular feature here on Supernatural Sisters, a compilation of the latest news (with links) about our favorite show, the actors, pretty much anything related to Supernatural. Though Friday isn't going to be our regular day, I thought I'd give you a taste of things to come. And if you all hear any juicy gossip, see any fabulous new images, etc., let one of us know.
Evidently, Paris Hilton is going to be appearing on a Supernatural episode this season. Wait, before you cry in agony, let it be known that it actually sounds like it'll be funny. She's playing a demonic creature that takes the form of...wait for it...Paris Hilton!
Still sad you weren't at Comic-Con this year? Well here's a little taste -- clips from the panel made up of Eric Kripke, Ben Edlund, Sera Gamble, Misha Collins and Jim Beaver. These are some funny talented people, and I was happy to hear Kripke say that this upcoming season will be the most optimistic yet, with the boys coming back together, though slowing and not without angst.
Kripke, Edlund and Gamble talk about Season 5 (and possibly beyond), and we get a glimpse of what's in store for Castiel this season in this article. Have I mentioned I love Castiel? And if you're not following Misha on Twitter, do. He's hysterical.
I looked up the latest IMDB (Internet Movie Database) listings for Jared and Jensen and found some interesting info on Jensen's page:
Jensen's page has two rumored roles -- as Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil: Afterlife and as Steve Rogers/Captain America in The First Avenger: Captain America. Wow, Jensen in tights? :)
